Guitar. Instruction in the basic and advanced developmental techniques in solo and ensemble performances, stage etiquette, interpretation, improvisation and accompaniment are included in this course. This course also enforces proper tuning, instrument mastery, and correct posture and hand position.
Bass. Instruction in the basic and advanced developmental performance techniques. Enhancement of tone, sound quality and style development are demonstrated.
Drums and Percussions. Instruction in the basic and advanced developmental performance techniques. This includes drum language, exercising proper drumming speed and comfort, proper holding and striking the drum, coordination drills and rhythms and instruction when playing with a group or as an accompaniment. This course will have both beginner/intermediate and advanced sections.
Keyboard Competency. Instruction in the basic and advanced development of functional keyboard skills including scales, arpeggios, improvisation, harmonization, and accompaniment.
Strings Instrument Laboratory. Introduction to the performance and pedagogical techniques for the violin and cello.
Theory of Music. This course includes basic vocabulary and grammar of music: fundamentals (intervals, scales, modes, keys, triads), counterpoint studies, and music theory studies. This session is appropriate for beginner and advanced students. Fundamentals of music, diatonic vocabulary, and aural skills are incorporated into this course curriculum.
